Nigerian Reggae music legend Majekodunmi Fasheke alias Majek Fashek is dead according to his manager Omenka Uzoma who confirmed the death.
Uzoma said 57–year-old Majek Fashek died in his sleep in New York on the 1st of June 2020.
The reggae music singer who became popular due to the songs he sang like Send down the rain also work with stars like Jimmy Cliff, Tracy Chapman and Snoop Dogg.
In the Instagram video that Uzoma posted, he said: ‘This is the time to celebrate his achievement; he has done a lot for Nigeria and Africa at large.
He also said Majek would like the Nigerian people and the world at large remember him ‘for good, for African inspiration, for his legacy and also his achievements’.
WHO IS MAJEK FASHEK?
Born in 1963 according to Uzoma, Majek Fashek hailed from Edo State, South south, Nigeria
He has four children from the union between him and his wife Rita Fashek before they filed for divorce.
For some time now, this so long too long singer had been battling with health conditions which according to Uzoma, ‘’Threatened his life last year before he was taken to England for hospitalization.’’
Before today, the singer had released studio albums including Prisoner of Conscience, Spirit of Love, Rainmaker, Weep not my Children and Little Patience.
